With more than 12 years of professional experience as both a content curator and copy editor, Allison is well versed in all aspects of the editorial process, including conceiving traditional or special-interest publications and managing them from concept through final production; assigning articles to freelance writers and editing their work to match the publication’s style and audience; and copy editing text to correct grammar, punctuation, tone, factual inaccuracies, and editorial inconsistencies.

She is fluent in AP Stylebook, Words into Type, and Chicago Manual of Style and has served as the copy chief for several publications, creating and instituting house-style rules and guidelines across titles.

Her on-staff magazine editorial experience includes eight years as an editor at American Artist (editorial assistant 2004-2006; associate editor 2006-2009; senior editor 2009-2012) and one year as editor of Fine Art Today (January 2013-January 2014.) She completed the 25th anniversary book for The Florence Academy of Art, titled The Florence Academy of Art: The First 25 Years (1991-2016), in 2015.
